Mission Statement: Accordia Senior Services is designed to provide home and community based services for the elderly and under-served seniors by assisting them in maintaining their integrity, quality of life and independence by utilizing resources that will assist them to remain safe and comfortable in their homes and community.

A major concern as people grow older is the likelihood of having to leave their homes and friends. Leaving behind a lot of memories, comfortable surroundings and a familiar community. Also, a certain amount of control is taken away when seniors have to leave their home.

The majority of seniors would like to remain in their homes for the rest of their lives. An AARP survey found this number to be greater than 80% of seniors. This "stay at home" concept is also known as "Aging in Place" a number of reasons are indicated for this strong Aging in Place preference which consist of a comfortable environment, familiarity, safety & security, feelings of independence and proximity to family.

Remaining in their own homes and communities not only make clients happier and healthier but costs are a small fraction of institutional care. The agency utilizes health maintenance, therapeutic, social, nutritional and recreational services to promote optimal physical and psychological well-being. These services assist seniors to remain in the community and participate in the family and community life to their fullest extent.
